FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CERAMIC AND BRASS BRAKE PADS?
Ceramic pads offer confident braking with less noise and reduced maintenance - perfect for trail riding, racing, and general use. Brass pads are the longest lasting pad on the market. They are CNC-machined from solid brass for ultimate durability in extreme mud and water conditions. They do not perform as well in high heat situations. Learn more about Ceramic vs Brass

No. Our ceramic pads are easy on rotors, extending their life. Our brass pads are CNC-machined to be durable while remaining soft enough to protect your rotors.
HOW LONG DO TRAILD BRAKE PADS LAST?
Lifespan varies based on riding style and conditions. Ceramic pads typically outlast traditional metallic pads, while brass pads are the longest lasting pad on the market specifically designed for maximum durability in harsh mud/water environments.
CAN I USE CERAMIC PADS FOR MUD RIDING?
Yes, ceramic pads work well in most conditions. However, for serious mud riders who spend 75%+ of their time in heavy wet mud, consider our brass pads and Ridge Rider rotors for optimal performance.
DO I NEED TO BED IN MY NEW BRAKE PADS?
Yes, proper bedding improves performance and pad life. Follow our bedding procedure for best results.
WHY DID MY BRAKE PAD SET ONLY COME WITH 3 SETS OF PADS?
Many ATV/UTV manufactures use only one caliper in the rear. Most ATV/UTV's use a locked rear differential, and the manufacture can use one rotor and caliper in the rear. Examples of this are some Polaris Sportsman Models, some Can Am Outlander models, Arctic Cat ATVs, and others.
DO YOU ACCEPT NEW DEALERS?
Yes! We are always looking to expand our dealer network. If you are interested in becoming a Traild dealer, please email service@traild.com
DID I ORDER THE CORRECT SET OF PADS FOR MY CAN-AM DEFENDER?
We offer 2 different pad sets for the Defender, the Defender MAX (4 door) uses the same pad front and rear, the 2 door Defender uses smaller brake pads in the rear. Make sure you ordered the correct set (Defender vs Defender MAX). If you find you ordered wrong, we can get you taken care of, just email service@traild.com.
